Nie prowadził również dziennika. Jedynymi pismami, jakie pozostały po Świętym z Pietrelciny, jest niezwykle obfita korespondencja, w której dzieli się on z adresatami swoją znajomością rzeczywistości duchowej. Znaczna część korespondencji została opublikowana w języku włoskim już w latach siedemdziesiątych XX wieku w czterech obszernych tomach. Do rąk polskiego czytelnika trafia ona po raz pierwszy w postaci drugiego tomu owej edycji listów(pozostałe trzy tomy są opracowywane), obejmującego korespondencję Ojca Pio z Raffaeliną Cerase, jego szczególną córką duchową.
